Media Center

Nina Gail Lanier

Hello,  To start off my years in education, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Math/Science.  I graduated from UNCW and I started working in Duplin County to begin my Education Career.  I went back to school at ECU to receive my Master of Library Science Degree and am currently working in the Media Center at Chinquapin Elementary.  I was already working at this school as a classroom teacher.  When our Media Coordinator retired, I was selected in a panel interview to move into the Media Center.  It is a great place to work with students and staff to help them with their individual needs to grow!

Chinquapin Elementary is a wonderful place for students to learn and grow!  We are blessed to have Pre - K through 8th Grade students.  The Media Center is a place that provides the materials needed to help students to be successful and to provide entertainment for them.  We set out to promote life long learners and to encourage them to continue to read as much as they can!
Accelerated Reader (By Renaissance) is a great program to accelerate learning for all students. Practicing reading with guidance and accountability is very important to Renaissance and to us here at Chinquapin Elementary.  We feel like this program helps students demonstrate their abilities which makes them feel good as well as their teachers and parents.  We are very thankful to have tools to help each student to learn and grow!

AR Book Finder -

AR Book Finder (Also by Renaissance) allows you to look up any books you have to see if Renaissance has a test available.  Since we use Renaissance at Chinquapin Elementary, we have access to any test they have created which is so great!
